Palin’s big shoppin’ trip!

Well, the VP candidate that I love to hate is up to it again. Politico.com is reporting that in the last month or so, the RNC paid for “campaign accessories” in the amount of about $150,000. That’s right $150,000!!!!! Whatever could these charges be? Surely it’s for food for needy children or something to bring the country out of this recession that it’s headed in, right?

Saks 5th Avenue in St. Louis & New York: $49,425.74
Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis: $75,062.63

That’s right folks! They’re buying Sarah and her family clothes and accessories for the campaign trail. A lot of high-end clothes and accessories. They also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup in the last month!

Check out the Politico.com article. You can see even more line items, including over $4,000 at a men’s store, and baby clothes and a stroller for the littlest Palin.

Then….this is great! The campaign issued this statement:

“With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it’s remarkable that we’re spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses,” said spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt. “It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign.”

So, they’re saying that this is a small issue and had no real relevance to the campaign and they media should back off from covering it because it’s no biggie? I agree. After all, it’s not like the GOP has been poking and prodding at the William Ayers connection with Obama. I mean, that’s another fact that has been completely blown out of context, harshly criticised even though the facts point to it being completely insignificant and having absolutely no relevance to this election. Oh, SNAP! That’s exactly what they’re doing! Plus it’s not involving $150,000 of election funds that may possibly be in violation of elections rules.

Oy!
