MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

This isn’t actually about the election or anything (however, I am very happy about the outcome. Sad about Prop 8 in California, but happy about President-Elect Obama!)

I have a fun announcement about a personal accomplishment. I have finished the famed “mystery creative project” that I have been working on for a couple of months now. I won’t go into full details, because with these kind of things it’s best to play your cards close until you make some real progress, but I’ll fill you in a bit.

I have finished writing a pilot script for a television show that I am developing. It’s been a very personal project for me, and something that has been very important in the last few months. I let it languish a little bit then lit the fire under my butt to get it finished and I set some goals for a timeframe. I am happy to say that I (almost) met those goals and have a complete script in my hands. I’m going to push really hard to get something going with this over the next few months and will keep you posted when it’s the right time to release more details.

Location Aware Bus Advertising

So, I read a ton of tech blogs every day because I’m a loser. I admit it. I use Google Reader to compile all the news stories and read them like some crazy freak. I came across this one today that I find so interesting, I thought I’d share it with you
NYC Buses Testing Digital Ads

Here’s the concept- Digital billboards on the sides of public busses that can change whenever they want. These ads will actually change during the course of the route and update the advertising depending on their location so that the ads you see are relative to where in the city you are. They will use some sort of GPS system on the bus that is keeping track of the location and putting out ads that local business want played in their specific area.

I think this is a genius system…especially in a place like New York where there are so many people walking around and looking at these busses.

Apparently it’s being tested on one route right now. I wonder which one it is.

And, for anyone who cares if my writing project is going as planned….um…it’s not. I have been productive, but not so much with the writing. I did about 1 page and now it’s 3pm.

I’ll keep trying.

Secret Project

I totally mentioned another project in that last post and then didn’t talk about it.

Actually, I can’t talk about it now either. It’s a secret creative project that I’ve been throwing about in my head for several months, but kind of put on the back burner. Since I’m bored every day, I thought this free time I have would be a great opportunity to be creative and bust out this sucker. I’m also in mourning for the loss of [title of show] and it’s spirit is urging me to finish this project.

‘Die, Vampire, Die!’

It might be a long time before I can really say what it is and give you guys any details, but know that I’m working on something super and when the time is right, you’ll hear about it. 

I’ve set a personal goal of completing the first stage of it by October 31st. So, if I can meet that self-imposed deadline, it’ll be a happy Halloween indeed.
